This piece is emblematic of the superb satire that used to appear in the pages of the New Yorker in its golden age. Now that most of publishing is enjoying its Mud Age, it would be likd pearls before swine.

As one who works in a large academic library, this was all too real to read... We recently hired a librarian who, in her interview, spoke quite passionately of "citation justice"... (I should say "they recently hired". I preferred another, less woke, candidate, but was very much outnumbered)
