Never Forget Nazi Trees
An intentional meditation in support of the justice-impacted community

In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, those of us on the right side of history have acknowledged how many people lost their lives. Along with the six cross-dressers who were arrested by the Nazis, a diversity of identities shall not be forgotten. ITV, Justin Trudeau, and Britain’s Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner all understood how important it is to be inclusive by mentioning Poles and LGBTQ+ people but not that other group whose fault the whole thing probably was anyway. Likewise Guardian whiz Owen Jones suggested that the Holocaust doesn’t refer to a single historic event but to all human rights violations. To me it reminds us never to forget the threat of Islamophobia.
Sensitivity was heightened due to the recent sight of Elon Musk giving the Nazi salute. A ton of misinformation circulated in response, from photos of Kamala and Hillary doing the same to videos of Tim Walsh and Emmanuel Macron grasping their hearts right before the arm-raise exactly like Elon. (They left out Usain Bolt’s victory pose because many refuse to accept what the US election proved—that unfortunately many people of color are misogynist racists.) The distinction is that people used Elon’s neurodiversity as an excuse when in fact he has merely been pretending not to be a Nazi by meeting with hostages’ families and visiting Auschwitz as well as some of the kibbutzim where our glorious martyrs practiced their decolonial ways of knowing.
Who the actual Nazis are was made clear at the victory celebration held in Gaza on the 25th. In a true testament to the endurance of survivors of a genocide, someone managed to print a massive banner with uplifting slogans like “Hamas is the victory of oppressed people vs the Nazi Zionism” and “Al Aqsa Flood: a revolution against the Zionist injustice and criminality”. I heard that the IDF refused to let the truck of drag queens that were originally intended to emcee the event cross the border, but only because some admin failed to include that in the terms of the ceasefire. That person will be dealt with like the local objectors whom Hamas had to shoot for the sake of unity.
Queer representation instead came in the form of a granny throwing confetti, and the mood could not have been more jubilant. Forget about the severed fingers, the state of Naama Levy the day they welcomed her into their vehicle, or the remaining visitors still being hosted. The crowd of men were so energized they were able to shake off the effects of famine to look as fresh as the new uniforms.
But back to Elon. In the UK a justice-impacted Welshman was sentenced to 52 years because of a stabbing video he saw on X. Axel Rudakubana would never have driven a knife into a girl 122 times had he not searched for this online hate. He would simply have stuck to his al-Qaeda manuals and ricin packet and gotten on with being a good citizen. One radio presenter hit the nail on the head when he drew a line from the knife, which Amazon enticed him to buy, to Jeff Bezos, who attended Trump’s Inauguration. To complete the picture for you, JD Vance just said people should have more babies, yet another dog whistle for white supremacy. Is it a coincidence that UK Labour kisses the ring at the same time it targets five of the 50 cities associated with the so-called grooming gangs for investigation? And who was the tech mogul who made this an issue rather than let dead dogs lie? You have to be educated to see it, but they are trying to exterminate us.
Elon has been criticized for platforming Germany’s AfD party, so we should clarify why that group’s a problem. It’s not because some of its members have scoffed at Berlin’s Holocaust memorial or think the Nazi years merely amount to bird shit on a wider history. And it’s not because “Alice [Weidel] für Deutschland” sounds an awful lot like “Alles für Deutschland”. It’s because the far-right believe multiculturalism has failed. They insist on causality between violence and male arrivals of different backgrounds but fail to understand that “Globalize the intifada” translates as “Frieden macht frei” (“Peace makes one free”).
These immigration skeptics are all Nazis, and I noticed this week that even British trees are in on it. They were never like this before, jutting their branches out at such an angle as to remind genderfluid and asexual people of the trauma they suffered under Aryan terror. This eerie phenomenon likely has something to do with a magnetic pull from either SpaceX, Starlink, or climate change.
Speaking of terror, Trump has declared war on the Mexican cartels. Traffickers’ rights are human rights! I know I am sounding all over the place but I have been sobbing harder than Selena Gomez. If only she could do something with her billion-plus net worth but she is as powerless as her people.
The one thing I can say is how thankful I am during these dark hours for spiritually-centered clergy. My local Scottish Episcopal priest, the one who responded to 10/7 by announcing he had been invited to go on Big Brother, applauded the brave sermon by Her Holiest Majesty Mariann Budde by sharing, “As a preacher, you just occasionally get to preach a truth that no-one else can give utterance to and you know you have a choice—whether to accept the calling to speak the truth that day or not.”
No one else can give utterance, he meant to say, except us equally pompous queers. When trans kids are fearing for their lives, we must be honest and scare the shit out of them further. Puberty = death. For gay kids too. No child is too young to understand that Trump’s homonationalist appointment of a gay man as Treasury Secretary is nothing more than genocidal pinkwashing. The rest of us are preparing to be rounded up for the camps any day now, making the need for Holocaust Pride Month more urgent than ever.
Some might say I should feel safer here in Scotland, but consider once more the plight of our former First Minister Humza Yousaf. He’s sticking around a little longer but knows he has to exile himself to Pakistan before it’s too late. If things get really bad I would probably choose Iraq, where they just lowered the marriage age for girls to nine, which makes sense when you consider they know their gender identity from birth.
But I will never forget how everything that has happened since the Inauguration has been worse than World War II, or how a Rwandan Welshman had no choice but to justice-impact a Taylor Swift dance party, or how Zionists made the trees on my street inform on me, or how having a hot Defense Secretary created a new generation of genital fetishists. This is what Holocaust Remembrance has always stood for and I will never forget it.
This is utterly hilarious! You are one of the most talented people here. Great job!
Brilliantly funny!
